Camera Review

Warmer weather is finally here in Virginia.  That means we are spending a lot of time outdoors.

So I thought I would do a little review on what I call my adventure camera.  It is a Pentax OptioWG-1.  It is waterproof up to 33 ft, crush proof, cold proof, and shockproof.

I use this camera when ever we go hiking, kayaking snorkeling and biking. But today I am going to show you how well it works underwater.

I gave it to my kids and we all jumped into the pool.

Nothing like a little underwater photo shoot.
They are snapping pictures in 4 ft deep water.

The colors in our suits are really bright
for a point and shoot camera!
Don't laugh, I don't like going under water.

This is at around a 7ft. depth.
It still takes some pretty clear pics at around
10 feet away and at 7 ft deep.

It has a nice size screen in the back, but it is hard to see under the water.  But it is really clear when you are using it normally.
If you are going to take it snorkeling, kayaking or diving I would recommend buying a floating hand strap.  That way if it gets away from you, your camera will float up and you will not loose it.

I would give this camera a five star rating!
Thanks for "playing" with my camera guys!
It is a lot of fun and easy to use.
We are looking forward to using it as we snorkel next month in the Dominican Republic!
Thanks for stopping by...........

New Toy

I have recently upgraded my point and shoot to a Nikon.  I am taking my photography to the next level.

Tuffted Titmouse

I enjoy shooting all the little critters in my backyard.  Here are shots of some backyard birds.  They are kind of blurry due to the fact I am shooting from my dining room table.

I have ordered some books and plan to learn the more technical side of photography.

The Tool

I started this new blog to focus on my photography hobby. I won't be using any fancy camera's, just this little Canon point and shoot. It does have some manual settings that I may play around with if I can find my instruction booklet.

I don't plan to post a picture a day. I named the blog 365 to represent a year long project.

My pictures will be about everyday life. I may throw in some themes/subjects.

So, I hope you follow along and leave comments. Pin It
